Accreditation
Up one levelThe accreditation of a Federal Law Enforcement academy or program provides assurance to the citizens they serve, that they have voluntarily submitted to a process of self-regulation; and, that they have successfully achieved compliance with a set of standards that have been collectively established by their peers within their professional community that demonstrate their adherence to quality, effectiveness and integrity.
To accomplish this goal, trainers in the same discipline, working through a professional accrediting body, assist each other in evaluating and improving their professionalism.
The focus of the effort is to accredit Federal academies; entry-level and advanced or specialized training programs; instructor training; and, other programs that affect multiple Federal, state and local law enforcement officers.
