Dale A. Pupillo

Dale PupilloA 31-year veteran of the Secret Service, Dale Pupillo was appointed Assistant Director of the Office of Human Resources and Training in June 2013. From 2008 to 2012 he served as the Special Agent in Charge of the Vice Presidential Protective Division, serving Vice Presidents Cheney and Biden.

Mr. Pupillo’s career with the Secret Service began in July 1982 in the Washington Field Office.  Mr. Pupillo transferred to the Vice Presidential Protective Division where he served for five years.  Following this assignment, he joined the New York Field Office, the Detroit Field Office and the Saginaw Resident Office.

Returning to Washington, Mr. Pupillo served in supervisory positions with the Vice Presidential Protective Division, the Criminal Investigative Division and the Inspection Division.  In 2007, Mr. Pupillo was named Deputy Assistant Director of the Office of Inspection, the agency’s internal affairs office.

Mr. Pupillo was selected for the Senior Executive Service and is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.  In 2012 he was the recipient of the Presidential Meritorious Rank Award for excellence in public service.

Prior to his career with the Secret Service, Mr. Pupillo served from 1976 to 1981 in active military service in the U.S. Navy, including one assignment at the Pentagon.  He is a graduate of Purdue University and the George Washington University.
