C.J. Ross
Mr. Ross began his law enforcement career in 1982 with the 1st Military Police Company at Fort Riley, Kansas. He joined the US Park Police in 1988. He worked in all areas of the Department which included: uniformed patrol, training, criminal investigations, and the horse mounted patrol unit. He first taught at FLETC for the Park Police in 1994 on a detail before returning as a training sergeant from 1997-2000, working in the police academy and the Physical Techniques Division. He joined the Bureau of Land Management in 2000, before returning to the FLETC as a Senior Instructor in the Enforcement Operations and Driver & Marine Divisions in 2002. He managed advanced training for the Fish & Wildlife Service from 2005-2010 before joining the FLETA Office of Accreditation as a Program Manager in March 2010.
Since 2000, Mr. Ross has been involved in law enforcement accreditation working as an accreditation manager and assessor for the FLETC from 2002-2005 and the Fish & Wildlife Service from 2005-2010. Mr. Ross was also involved in accreditation with the Boy Scouts of America from 1993-2010 and the College of Coastal Georgia from 2004-2010.
While with the Fish & Wildlife Service, he worked with Michigan State University to academically accredit the Land Management Police Training Program at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Mr. Ross has a Masters degree in Education from Troy State University and a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland. He is a graduate of the US Park Police Training Academy and the Criminal Investigator Training Program. His greatest joy is his two sons and one daughter.
