
The purpose of the Firearms Instructor Course is to meet the needs of the Department of Veterans Affairs, by introducing the students to the concept and principles of use of force policy, and techniques required to safely operate a range and conduct basic firearms training. This course is designed to prepare a cadre of highly-skilled instructors capable of developing and presenting effective training at their stations. The Firearms Instructor Course is 10 instructional days and consists of 80 hours of instruction. The average number of students per iteration of the program is 30.
