The Inspector General Investigator Training Program (IGITP) is a 17-day basic training program designed for newly hired GS-1811 criminal investigators in the federal Inspector General (IG) community. The IGITP builds upon The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers’ (FLETC) Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP) by introducing criminal investigators to the IG Act of 1978, as amended, and the multitude of authorities, duties, responsibilities, and obligations that stem from the Act. The IGITP was developed in collaboration with experienced criminal investigators from a diverse cross-section of federal Offices of Inspectors General (OIG). Instruction is provided by highly qualified subject matter experts from the IG community, the FLETC, and other federal agencies.
