FLETA COVID-19 Town Hall, May 5, 2020

COVID-19 FLETA Information

Thank you for taking the time to attend today’s town hall. We appreciate everyone’s continued understanding, support, and flexibility during this time.

We have updated the attached COVID-19 guidance to include the guidance for assessors. At the end of the document, you’ll find the frequently asked questions with the additional questions from today’s session.

I understand that there still may be some concerns as to when the OA will notify organizations about the assessments that are currently scheduled for this upcoming block. As of now, if your organization is scheduled for an assessment that cannot support online reviews, we ask for your patience. If we have to do rescheduling, we would prefer to do it once, and not multiple times, once travel and social distancing restrictions are lifted/eased. Please remain in contact with your OA Program Manager (PM). If your situation changes from what you reported to us in April (ability to conduct online/electronic FLETA assessment), please let your OA PM know. The communication between all of us is key for future rescheduling. I can assure you that we will work to get assessments conducted and/or rescheduled as expeditiously as possible, when we can feasibly do so.

If you volunteered for an assessment, I ask for your patience until the rest of the schedule becomes finalized. Without knowing which assessments will be rescheduled, and for when, we don’t want to create undue stress. As of now, the OA is working through the schedule (assessments, assessor/Team Leader availability). I can assure you, we will keep in contact with you.

Finally, as we discussed, the OA has received questions regarding how other organizations are planning to restart training. If you are able and willing to share your plan with us, the OA will serve as a central clearinghouse. Please send your plans to James.J.Hensley@fletc.dhs.gov. The OA will not share the information outside of the FLETA community and will only share it upon request from a participating organization.

The OA staff is here if you have any questions. Thank you again for your continued support and understanding.

Take care,

Joe Collins
