
Timothy Lang is the Chief Learning Officer for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Mr. Lang is responsible for educating and developing the Bureau’s workforce to meet the challenges of reducing violent crime and protecting the public. He oversees the Bureau’s training policy, advanced training, leadership training, professional/technical training, and accreditation through the Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) program.
Mr. Lang began his career with ATF in 2003 as an Industry Operations Investigator and worked in both the St. Paul and Washington Field Divisions. He has over a decade of leadership experience with the Bureau, including leading two different field offices in Nashville and Atlanta, and holding the Deputy Chief position of his current division. Additionally, he served as a program manager in the Advanced Training Branch where he was assigned to develop technical firearms related training.
He received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Eastern Kentucky University.
