ATF Canine Training Division Receives FLETA Fundamentals

For Immediate Release
Program Manager Christiana Halsey discusses the types of accreditation

FLETA Office of Accreditation Program Manager Christiana Halsey delivered a two-day FLETA Fundamentals and Accreditation Manager Workshop to training staff from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) in Front Royal, VA, September 10-11, 2019. Eleven members of the Canine Training Division attended the two-day workshop. The program included an overview of the FLETA process, a standard-by-standard discussion, building accreditation files, an overview of the FLETA assessment process, and maintaining accreditation for reaccreditation.

FLETA Fundamentals is typically a one-day workshop for delivery to agency personnel as they prepare and support the agency's accreditation efforts, but may be modified to include: building files, managing annual reports, completing a corrective action plan, and assessing files. The Fundamentals may be delivered in-person or online. Online sessions may be recorded and provided securely to the agency for delivering in-house training.
